Atlantic Beach Bridge Gets First Toll Hike In More Than 16 Years
Passengers will pay at least $3 starting on Jan. 1.

LIDO BEACH, NY — Beginning with the new year, drivers will pay a minimum of $3 to cross the Atlantic Beach Bridge.
The new toll rates go into effect at midnight on Jan. 1, the Nassau County Bridge Authority (NCBA) said.
For registered vehicles from outside of Nassau County, the new rate doubles to $4. Passenger vehicles without EZPass will also pay $4.

Trucks will be charged, based on the size, from $8-16, an upgrade from $4-8.
The Atlantic Beach Bridge will install electronic tolling and EZPass by mid-2023.

This is the first toll hike on the bridge in more than 16 years, the NCBA said.
Extra toll fees will go toward capital improvements on the Atlantic Beach Bridge, including $5 million for EZ Pass and overall toll plaza refurbishment.
Another $6 million will be used for cleaning, painting and bridge maintenance.
The Atlantic Beach Bridge is a drawbridge that carries Route 878 across Reynolds Channel from Lawrence to Atlantic Beach.
