Baby Left In Mall Parking Lot; Mom Charged: Police

VALLEY STREAM, NY — A woman is accused of leaving her baby alone in a car in the Green Acres Mall parking lot.

Moesha Hamilton-Prince, 24, of Queens, was placed in custody after an investigation by police.

The incident happened on Tuesday just after noon, a 911 call was made by a witness, who noticed the toddler, detectives said.

The eight-month-old was found by police in the rear seat of the vehicle, which was unlocked and running. The baby was evaluated by a Nassau County Police Department Medic and was not harmed.

Hamilton-Prince was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. She was expected to be arraigned on Wednesday, police said.
