MINEOLA, NY — Bathing takes a backseat in the Five Towns. The Nassau County Department of Health issued a bathing advisory for Hewlett Point Beach in East Rockaway.

The advisory ends Friday at 7 a.m. unless there's more heavy rain or further testing reveals unhealthy bacteria levels, Newsday reported.

Island Park Beach is among a handful of beaches still closed with raised bacterial levels from storm runoff.
