Body Found Floating In Water Off Five Towns: Police

No other details were released and police investigating what happened, detectives said.

LAWRENCE, NY — A body was recovered in the Broad Channel at 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday. Nassau police received a 911 call regarding the person floating in the area of Lawrence.

Officers were assisted by the County's Marine Bureau and Aviation Unit. Hempstead Bay Constable and Long Beach Fire Department also responded.

The body was recovered. No other details were given as the investigation is ongoing.
