Car Slams Into Nassau Home And Takes Out Chimney

It's unclear what caused the crash, which damaged more than just the chimney.

A car drove into a house in Woodmere on Friday morning, destroying the house's chimney in the process.

The car jumped the curb around 9 a.m., drove across the lawn and slammed into the chimney of the home on Howard Avenue. The collision took out the chimney, which collapsed oacross the lawn and onto the sidewalk, taking out part of a fence in the process.

The Woodmere, Rockville Centre and Elmont fire departments all responded to the scene. It's still unclear what caused the crash.
