Arrest Made In Connection With Valley Stream Hit-And-Run: Police

The 8-year-old victim was taken to a nearby hospital with a broken leg.

VALLEY STREAM, NY — Police have arrested a Valley Stream man in connection with a hit-and-run Sunday in Valley Stream that left an 8-year-old girl with a broken leg.

Heath Underweiser, 52, faces a charge of leaving the scene of an incident with an injury. He was released on a desk appearance ticket and was scheduled to appear in court March 2.

The girl was playing in an alleyway behind a home on Dartmouth Street when she was struck by a black SUV, police said.
