Penninsula Kiwanis sends 34 children to camp from Inwood

On July 15th the Peninsula Club sent 34 of their sponsored children up to Kamp Kiwanis. The children left from Our Lady of Good Counsel in Inwood. The children were all provided with drinks and snacks for the ride up to camp. Peninsula Kiwanis has sponsored an additional 31 who will attend later in the summer. The club will salute the military by sending ten children of active duty military stationed at Fort Drum to Kamp Kiwanis for a week.
The Kamp is located six miles north of Rome, N.Y., on 102 acres of open and wooded land in the rolling western foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. Kamp Kiwanis is aimed at providing fun, physical exercise and adventure.
The program at Kamp Kiwanis is designed to mainstream all children, including up to 20 each session with special needs. It is non-competitive with emphasis on group and team building. No activity is forced, but all are encouraged.
