Community celebrates "Israeli Shabbat" in support of Israel
Chabad of Hewlett hosted "Israeli Shabbat"

Chabad of Hewlett hosted the first ”Israeli Shabbat“ bringing together over 150 people to join for a festive Friday night meal. The night was dedicated to the Israeli-American families living in Hewlett.
The event was an opportunity for the community to show their appreciation to the local elected officials who are leaders in the fight for Israel,
Rabbi Tenenboim introduced Senator Todd Kaminsky by thanking him for standing with israel “when it comes to Israel, there is no Republican or Democrat, we are all standing as one with the Israel” said Senator Kaminsky,
On behalf of the Hewlett community, Rabbi Tenenboim asked him to personally thank NY governor Andrew Cuomo for signing a bill prohibit New York State from doing business with organizations associated with an anti-Israeli boycott. He said, “if you boycott Israel, New York state will boycott you”.
Councilman Anthony D'Esposito represent the Town of Hempstead :“I'm so proud of the work that Supervisor Anthony J. Santino, Councilman Bruce Blakeman, and I have done for the Town of Hempstead. We have passed legislation that prohibits town government from doing business with individuals, or companies that openly boycott against America, Israel and other allies”
