The district’s music program offers a comprehensive range of opportunities for students at all grade levels, including band, orchestra, chorus, and general music education. Students regularly participate in regional and statewide performances, competitions, and honors ensembles, showcasing their talent and dedication. To qualify for the Best Communities for Music Education Award, districts must submit detailed information about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, and community support. Applications are reviewed by arts education experts and audited to ensure accuracy.
“Our music programs thrive because of the unwavering support from our community,” added Pamela Gallopini, District Music Coordinator. “This award belongs to everyone who values the role of the arts in education.” The Lawrence School District remains committed to expanding and enhancing its music offerings, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to explore and excel in the arts.
