Cops: Man Charged in Five Towns Bank Robbery
Man held up Bank of America in Lawrence Thursday morning, cops said.

A Manhattan man robbery faces charges after he held up a Five Towns bank Thursday morning, according to Nassau County Police.
Detectives said Alberto Lopez, 24, demanded cash from a teller at Bank of America on Central Avenue in Lawrence at 9:45 a.m.

The teller cooperated and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to Lopez, who then fled north on Washington Avenue on foot, cops said.
Responding officers found Lopez on Rockaway Turnpike at 10:30 a.m. with the money taken from the bank, police said.

No one was injured in the robbery, cops said.
Lopez was charged with third-degree robbery and will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
