Press release.

Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st AD) recently visited James A. Dever Elementary School in Valley Stream to teach fourth and fifth graders a lesson about state government. Curran said the students were very engaged while discussing government and the role it plays in our communities and day-to-day lives.

“Speaking with students and helping them with their education is very important to me. When I visit schools like Dever Elementary, I am always reminded how insightful and inspiring our young children can be,” said Curran. “These kids were well prepared and excited for our discussion and their lesson. Their teachers and parents all should be very proud.”

After their lesson, Curran spent some extra time with the students.

“It’s good to hang out with and show the kids that, even though I am their representative, I am still approachable,” said Curran. “I enjoy having small group conversations with them because that’s when their curiosity sparks and they ask more questions. It’s a great way to communicate my mission and what I am doing in Albany for them and their families.”
