Domestic Incident; Victim Forcibly Removed From Home, Cop Hurt: Police
A Valley Stream man had to be subdued by police before getting arrested, authorities said.

VALLEY STREAM, NY — A Valley Stream man was arrested following a domestic incident at a home on Tuesday evening.
Daryl Russell, 32, had a verbal argument with the female victim that quickly escalated, police said.
He is accused of striking the victim's face, authorities said.

The woman locked herself in the bathroom but Russell forcibly removed her from the residence, police said.
When officers arrived, Russell attempted to leave the scene. After a short foot pursuit, he refused to comply with police and became combative, swinging his arms and making it difficult to be placed in custody, detectives said.

Russell was subdued and arrested.
One officer was taken to a hospital for an injury to his neck.
Russell was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
He was due to be arraigned on Wednesday.
