Driver Extricated From Truck After Crashing Into Parked Cars, Tree: PD
The driver was hospitalized with severe injuries to his legs, police say.
HEWLETT, NY — A driver was badly hurt when he lost control of his truck.
It happened just after 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Lakeview Drive in Hewlett.
A yellow-colored 2017 GMC box truck was found on its side by police after crashing into three parked vehicles and a tree, police said.

Emergency Services officers and firefighters rescued the driver from the vehicle with cutters, hydraulic pumps and other tools.
The driver suffered severe injuries to both legs. One leg had been stuck in the firewall of the truck, police said.

He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
There were no other injuries.
