Driver Strikes Woman, Who Is Critically Injured: Police

INWOOD, NY — A woman was seriously injured in a car accident in Inwood.

The victim, 68, was walking on Bayview Avenue at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, when she was struck in the crosswalk at Sheridan Boulevard by a man driving a 2008 Totoya Sienna, police said.

The victim was taken by helicopter to an area hospital. She is listed in critical but stable condition.

The driver, 73, remained at the scene.

No criminal charges have been filed at this point, police said.
