Duo Arrested After Shoplifting From Target, Shoving Security: Police

The men left the store with items in a shopping cart, police say.

VALLEY STREAM, NY. — Two men pleaded not guilty to robbery and grand larceny charges this weekend after police said they shoplifted from a Valley Stream Target Friday afternoon.

Nassau County police said 19-year-old Springfield Gardens resident Jahkeli Mason and 36-year-old St. Albans resident Darren Gordon walked into the Target off Sunrise Highway and started putting items from the store in a shopping cart. After putting things in the cart, police said the men walked out the exits to the store without paying. When confronted by Target loss prevention staff, they threatened and shoved an employee before leaving the store, police said.

After being located a short time later, the duo were chased down on foot and arrested with no injuries reported, police said.
