NORTH LAWRENCE, NY — A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday night in North Lawrence, Nassau police said. The victim was walking across Rockaway Turnpike near East Avenue, just before 11:30 p.m., when he was struck by the vehicle. The vehicle fled. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Anyone who can provide information regarding the incident is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
