2nd Day For Remote Classrooms After Fire At Forest Road School

VALLEY STREAM, NY — A fire Wednesday evening at the Forest Road School caused students to learn remotely on Thursday, the school announced.

The school will remain with virtual learning on Friday, the district announced.

It took several departments to assist, led by the Valley Stream Volunteer Fire Department.

The fire was located in a store room and was quickly extinguished, the Valley Stream Fire Department said in a Facebook post.

No injuries were reported and the Nassau County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.

Principal Erin Malone messaged families on Wednesday that the remote education was necessary due to "clean up and assessment purposes."
