Five Towns Hebrew School Creates 'Butterflies Of Hope' For Israel

The origami designs, on display at the Lawrence school, have messages for the hostages and IDF soldiers

LAWRENCE, NY — Brandeis Hebrew Academy in Lawrence is showing its support for Israel with a unique project.

Students, parents, graduates and faculty members have created origami butterflies that are displayed on the Brandeis campus in tribute to those held captive by Hamas and to IDF soldiers directly in the war's crosshairs for more than two months.

Some of the pieces of art of the message of "stay strong," while one person wrote "prayers for a safe return home."

It is called the Butterflies of Hope Campaign and was launched in conjunction with several Israeli advocacy groups and institutions
