Florida Woman Drove With Loaded Gun In Car In Nassau: Police

The loaded firearm was in her handbag on the passenger seat, police say.

VALLEY STREAM, NY — A Florida woman was arrested after she was accused of driving with a loaded gun in her car in Valley Stream on Wednesday, Nassau police said on Friday.

Officers stopped Cristine Robles, 32, of Bradenton, who was driving a black 2016 Chevrolet Malibu near Green Acres Road West, around 3 a.m. Wednesday, police said. Robles had a loaded firearm in a handbag on the passenger seat, police said. She was arrested without incident, and her vehicle was impounded, police said.

Robles was charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Her arraignment was scheduled for this past Wednesday at First District Court, at 99 Main St., Hempstead.
