Food Delivery Driver Has Car Stolen By 4 People In Elmont: Police

ELMONT, NY — A food delivery driver had his vehicle stolen in Mineola, police said.

An Elmont man and three juveniles took the 2019 Toyota Camry, which was left unlocked with the keys inside the vehicle, police said.

Alix Dure, 19, entered the unoccupied car just after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, after leaving a scheduled probation appointment at 400 County Seat Drive, detectives said.

An investigation led officers to locate the vehicle at the intersection of Hoffman Avenue and Parkway Drive in Elmont.

All four people fled but were taken into custody shortly thereafter, police said.

Dure faces charges of fourth-degree grand larceny, petit larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday.

He previously was arrested on July 27, 2021 for multiple crimes including robbery and assault, according to authorities.

The underaged individuals were charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.
