Garbage Truck Worker Critically Hurt In Cedarhurst Crash: PD

CEDARHURST, NY — A garbage truck worker was ejected from his vehicle Friday morning when a semi-tractor trailer collided with his vehicle, Nassau police said.

The Town of Hempstead garbage truck was backing into a location at the Rockaway Turnpike and Burnside Avenue when it was struck, police said.

The 67-year-old male victim was listed in critical but stable condition with multiple serious injuries, detectives said.

The other driver remained at the scene. The investigation is continuing, according to police.
