Gun Fired At Elmont Home Saturday Morning: Police

Police say the person who fired the gun had fled the scene.

ELMONT, NY. — The search is on Monday for the person who fired a gun just after midnight Saturday morning, police said.

Nassau County police said a disturbance was reported at a Covert Avenue residence at 12:03 a.m. Saturday, at which point officers went to the house and found that a gun had been fired. The person who fired the gun fled the scene, police said, and the kind of gun fired was not named.

In the aftermath of the incident, police said an investigation was ongoing and no injuries were reported. Police also encouraged anyone with information regarding the gun firing to call crime stoppers at 1 (800) 244-TIPS, or call 911.
