Hewlett-Woodmere Schools Appoints New Principal

WOODMERE, NY — Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools announced the appointment of a new administrator Monday, as the district said Reina Hall would be named principal at Ogden Elementary School as principal.

Effective Tuesday, Hall’s appointment will fill the role previously held by Nicola Lynch. The appointment was approved at a special board of education meeting Monday, district officials said.

“I am deeply honored to serve as the next Principal of Ogden Elementary School,” Hall said. “Having been part of the Hewlett-Woodmere family for the past 18 years, I know firsthand what makes this community so special. Ogden is a place where students are inspired to learn, families are valued as true partners, and dedicated educators go above and beyond every day.”

According to Superintendent Dina Anzalone, Hall’s service in the district thus far set her apart in a “highly accomplished and talented” pool of candidates seeking to fill the role.

“Mrs. Hall distinguished herself as the exceptional leader to serve as the next Principal of Ogden Elementary School. Having served the District for the past 18 years, Mrs. Hall has built meaningful relationships with our students, families, and staff, earning the trust and respect of the entire community,” Anzalone said. “Her deep understanding of our District’s values, traditions, and commitment to excellence, combined with her proven instructional leadership and unwavering dedication to children, make her uniquely prepared to lead Ogden into its next chapter.”

Hall has spent the last two years as the assistant principal at Hewlett Elementary School, after working as a special education teacher in the district for the preceding 16 years. In total, district officials said Hall has 23 years of educational experience under her belt, starting out at PS 14 in Corona, Queens. She has a bachelor of science in elementary education with a concentration in social studies from St. Bonaventure University, a master of science in special education from St. John’s University, and an advanced certificate in educational leadership from LIU-Post, district officials said.

As for what the new principal plans to do in her role, Hall said she wanted to challenge, support and empower the student body at Ogden.

“I am excited to build upon the school’s strong foundation while working collaboratively with our exceptional staff and supportive families to ensure every child feels challenged, supported, and empowered to reach their fullest potential,” Hall said. “I look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence that makes Ogden such an extraordinary place to learn and grow.”
