Homeless Man Accused Of Trying To Rape Woman In Nassau: Police
Freddie Keitt was taken into custody on Friday, police said.

INWOOD, NY — A homeless man has been charged with attempting to rape a woman in Inwood, police said.
The 50-year-old victim was walking on Nassau Avenue on Aug. 4 at 5:30 a.m. when a man approached her from behind.
According to police, the suspect forcefully wrapped his arms around the woman's waist and dragged her to a concealed area between two parked cars.

The victim was pushed to the ground and was struck several times in the head, police said.
She was able to escape and fled the scene.

An investigation led police to locate and arrest Freddie Keitt, 44.
He is charged with first-degree attempted rape and third-degree assault. Keitt was scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday.
