Man Robbed 2 Nassau Banks: Police
Police say the man handed the teller a note demanding money, then fled on foot once he was given the cash.

VALLEY STREAM, NY — A man was arrested by police on Wednesday and charged with robbing two Nassau County banks. According to police, Romell Nellis, 40, entered the Chase Bank at 270 North Central Ave. in Valley Stream at 6 p.m. on Dec. 30. Police say he handed a teller a note demanding money, and the teller complied. Nellis then fled the bank on foot with the cash.
Police say Nellis is also responsible for robbing a Roslyn Savings Bank in West Hempstead on Dec. 17.
Nellis is charged with two counts of third-degree robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned later today in First District Court in Hempstead.
