Honorary Fire Chiefs Recognized For 50 Years Of Service
The four chiefs are longtime members of the East Rockaway Fire Department
EAST ROCKAWAY, NY — The Town of Hempstead is praising four honorary chiefs of the East Rockaway Fire Department, each with 50 years of service.
Paul Wolf, John DeSantis, Bruce Dwyer and Robert Renner were presented with the Town of Hempstead Firematic Award.
"As firefighters were forced to adapt to a changing world in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, these four veterans provided a calming presence and leadership skills to the younger members," the town said in a statement.

Their combined 200 years of experience in the department had a "profound impact" in the community.
