Israel Lacrosse Board member Howard Borkan Speaks to Temple Israel Religious School

Howard Borkan, Israel Lacrosse

Howard Borkan, Israel Lacrosse Executive Board Member, spoke to the Temple Israel of Lawrence Religious School children on November 29. The religious school children selected Israel Lacrosse to be the recipient of their yearlong Tzedekah Project, raising money for an Israel-based program, and Howard spoke to the school-children on 'Giving Tuesday,' about Israel Lacrosse and where their donation will go.

"Israel Lacrosse is a non-profit organization dedicated to relentlessly and strategically pursuing the goal of making lacrosse the national sport of Israel, through exponential growth," Mr. Borkan told Cantor Galina Makaveyev, Temple Israel Religious School Director. In simpler terms, he told the kids to follow their passion, whatever that might be - he said he hoped for some of them it would be lacrosse.

Howard told the students that as a youngster growing up in Oceanside, he played soccer, basketball and baseball, and when he got to college at Cornell, he fell in love with the sport of lacrosse, and has played it, coached it and brought his passion of the sport to Israel and elsewhere.
