Knifepoint Robbery At Elmont Store: Police
The man fled the scene without taking any items and was placed in custody a short time later, police said.

ELMONT, NY — A shop worker was robbed at knifepoint on Thursday afternoon in Elmont.
Al Toussaint, 22 of Elmont, is accused of entering Your Food & Snack Zone on Dutch Broadway, police said.
A clerk asked for proof of age for Toussaint to purchase a smoking product. Instead, he pulled out a knife and threatened the employee, while demanding the product, police said.

A co-worker called the police as Toussaint kicked the door, breaking the glass and fled.
Officers located him at the intersection of Opal Street and Lenox Street. He was placed under arrest without further incident, detectives said.

He faces charges that include first-degree attempted robbery and third-degree criminal mischief. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
