Lawrence Schools Show Off School Pride in Homecoming Parade
LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (OCTOBER 2021) — The sun was shining and spirits were high as staff members and students from the Lawrence School District gathered together to celebrate the annual Lawrence Homecoming football game and celebration. Led by the high school marching band, students and staff from all of the District’s schools walked through the Lawrence community, making their way to Lawrence High School in preparation for kick-off.
“Our students and families had a great time participating in the Homecoming parade,” said Dr. Ann Pedersen, Superintendent of Lawrence School District.” “Watching our students hold up their banners and represent their schools in such a prideful way put a huge smile on my face.”
After walking through the community to Lawrence High School, students and staff enjoyed a nail-biting and action-packed homecoming football game in which Lawrence came up just short of Locust Valley, 22-20. “Heartbreaking! Just one second left. 4th down. They were on our goal line and ran it in,” said Dr. Pedersen. “But all of us here still had a great day and are so proud of our football team, marching band, and all our students who represented their schools with dignity, passion and spirit during the Homecoming parade and community walk.”
