Lawrence UPK Celebrates World Kindness Day
Lawrence UPK Learns About World Kindness Day and Pledges To Be Kind
LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (NOVEMBER 2023)—Lawrence UPK, the district’s early childhood education center, celebrated World Kindness Day with a special event centered around the theme of “Be Kind Wherever Possible.” The event aimed to instill the values of kindness and helpfulness in young children and emphasized the importance of treating others with respect and compassion.
“We believe that kindness is a fundamental value that should be nurtured in every child,” said Patricia Almonaitis, Director of Lawrence UPK. “By celebrating World Kindness Day, we hope to inspire our students to embrace kindness as a way of life and make a positive impact on the world around them.”
During the event, each class engaged in a discussion about various ways they can be kind and why it is essential to be helpful towards others. Students shared personal experiences of acts of kindness, such as cleaning up their mess, holding doors open for people, smiling and greeting one another, and assisting their families with household chores like laundry. They also discussed the significance of offering a helping hand to someone who may have fallen or is in need.
