Lawrence School District's Jason Supple is Appointed the New Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics

LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (JULY 2022)—Lawrence School District is thrilled to announce that Jason Supple has been appointed Director of Physical Education, Health, and Athletics. Mr. Supple has been working in the Lawrence School District for 17 years.
Mr. Supple has 17 years of experience in education as an educator, leader, and coach. He started in the Lawrence School District in 2005 as a Weight Room Coordinator at Lawrence High School. In 2009, Mr. Supple became a Physical Education (P.E) teacher at Lawrence Primary School. He served in that position until 2017 when he moved to Lawrence Middle School as a P.E. teacher. Last year, Mr. Supple was a P.E. teacher at Lawrence High School.
“We are incredibly thrilled to have Mr. Supple as the new Director of Physical Education, Health and Athletics,” said Dr. Ann Pedersen, Superintendent of Schools. “Mr. Supple has been serving the children of the Lawrence School District for 17 years, during which time he has proven himself as a great educator and leader. I know with his experience and his passion for physical education, health, and fitness, he will be a great addition to our Central Administration team.”

During his tenure with the Lawrence School District, Mr. Supple has developed a multi-disciplinary March Madness unit for all second-grade classes integrating math, basketball, and fitness; hosted two Parent University seminars for Lawrence Elementary School PTA with a focus on Common Core Mathematics and Social Emotional Learning, and designed and implemented a school-wide Positive Behavior Support initiative. He also took on the task of reviewing and revising the District’s student-athlete academic policy and designed and implemented COVID-19 safety protocols for P.E. and Athletics. He also assisted in reviewing and revising the District’s Coaches Handbook, and District Parent and Student Athletic Handbook, and implemented a District-wide remote P.E. curriculum.
Mr. Supple started his journey as a coach in 2008 as a Lawrence High School Junior Varsity Boys Basketball coach. He has also served as a coach for Lawrence Middle School Boys Lacrosse, Lawrence High School Varsity Softball, Lawrence High School Varsity Girls Softball, and Lawrence High School Varsity Football.

Mr. Supple earned his Bachelor of Science in Education and his Master of Science in Physical Education from Adelphi University. He also received a Post-Master’s Advanced Graduate Certificate in School Building Leadership and School District Leadership from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
