HEWLETT, NY — In voting for its 2022-2023 calendar, the Hewlett-Woodmere Board of Education did not approve days off for Muslim Eid holidays, the LI Herald wrote.

The students will get Juneteenth off along with Jewish holidays-- Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, the calendar indicates.

But a petition of more than 1,000 signatures seeking to add the Muslim holidays was not recognized on the new calendar, according to the report.
