LI Synagogue Pays Tribute To MLK With Day Of Service

EAST ROCKAWAY, NY — In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Hewlett East Rockaway Jewish Centre is hosting an Interfaith and Intergenerational Day of Service event.

The synagogue anticipates between 150 and 200 people will participate in the January 15 gathering.

Those in attendance will have the opportunity to engage in more than 15 different service projects, including creating packages for local veterans and card-making for children and adults in hospitals.

Words of inspiration will also be delivered by Rabbi Michel Schlesinger and Pastor Curtis Thompson.
