Loaded Gun, High Capacity Magazine In Car Leads To 2 Arrests: Police
A 9-millimeter gun with a 12-round magazine inside and a high-capacity magazine with 25 rounds were found, police say.
INWOOD, NY —A loaded handgun was discovered, after police approached a vehicle on Thursday night in Inwood, detectives said.
Ronald Taveras, 35, and Shaquana Brown, 32, both of Brooklyn, were arrested after a black, Taurus 9-millimeter gun with a 12-round magazine inside and a high-capacity magazine with 25 rounds were found, police said.
An investigation by police determined the gun was stolen from Charlotte, North Carolina on Oct. 6, 2020. Officers also recovered two, packaged oxycodone pills, detectives said.

Police were on patrol when they saw the vehicle parked in Inwood Park after 10:30 p.m. It closes at dusk.
Taveras faces charges that include second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, one count is from a previous conviction, police said.

Brown's charges include second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.
They were both scheduled for arraignment on Friday, according to police.
