Longtime Museum Director Retires

LAWRENCE, NY — For 37 years, Linda Barreira has been the director of the Town of Hempstead's Rock Hall Museum.

But the Lawrence resident called it a career on April 1, the LI Herald reported.

The Rock Hall Museum is a pre-Revolutionary War house where Barreira would coordinate various programs and exhibits.

She became museum director in 1995.

"My relationship to Rock Hall has grown over the years, just like the relationship a mother has to her children," she told the Herald.
