Man Broke Into Abandoned Nassau Home And Rented It Out: Police
Police say the man changed the locks on the building and damaged the walls when he turned the power back on.

A Queens man was arrested on Thursday after police say he broke into an abandoned home in the Five Towns and started renting it out to tenants.
According to police, Vernon Glass, 32, of Beach 68th Street, Far Rockaway, broke into a vacant home located at 36 Rosedale Road in North Woodmere on April 1. Police say he changed the locks on the house and turned on the electrical system, which damaged multiple walls in the home. Then Glass defrauded three people by renting out the home and collecting rent by claiming he was the building's landlord, police say.
After an investigation, Glass was arrested on Thursday without incident. Police ask that anyone who thinks they may have been a victim of Glass's alleged scheme to call the Fourth Precinct at 516-573-6453, or dial 911.
