Man Fights King Kullen Security Guard In Hewlett Robbery: Police
A fight began when the security guard stopped the man, who tried to steal several things, police say.
HEWLETT, NY — Nassau detectives are looking for the man who robbed a King Kullen in Hewlett on Sunday, police said.
A man entered a King Kullen, at 1765 Peninsula Boulevard, and took several products around 3:35 p.m., police said. He then tried to pass all points of purchase and leave the store without paying when a security guard attempted to stop him, police said. A fight ensued, and the man dropped the merchandise and fled in an unknown direction, police said.
No injuries were reported at the store, police said. Detectives are looking for the man.

The man was described by police as black, 45-50 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black beanie, black jackets, black pants and black shoes.
Detectives request anyone with information regarding the robbery to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or to call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
