Man Hit By Car, Killed While Crossing Nassau Expressway

Police say they are still investigating the incident. The identity of the man has not yet been released.

A man was hit by a car while crossing a street in Inwood Monday night and later died of his injuries, Nassau Police said.

According to police, the 24-year-old man was crossing Nassau Expressway at the intersection with Mott Avenue at 9:08 p.m. when he was hit by a 1995 Honda heading north on Nassau Expressway.

The man suffered multiple injuries and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors at 10:22 p.m. Police have not yet released the man's identity.

The driver, a 25-year-old man, stayed at the scene. Police conducted a brake and safety check of his car.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
