Man Needs Rescue After Car Plunges Into Water: Nassau Police

It happened at the Bay Park boat launch on Thursday evening.

EAST ROCKAWAY, NY — The vehicle submerged in water at the Bay Park boat launch on Thursday night. When police arrived just after 9 p.m. they saw the 66-year-old male victim screaming for help and clinging onto the edge of the dock, detectives say.

The man was pulled to safety without any further incident. The Marine Bureau unit assisted with removing the vehicle from the water near First Avenue.

The victim refused medical attention. No injuries were reported, police said.
