Man Resists Arrest For Domestic Dispute; Officer Injured: Police
Garry Henriques is accused of bruising his girlfriend from an altercation on Saturday, police say.

ELMONT, NY — A man was taken into custody for a domestic disturbance on Saturday.
Garry Henriques, 33, is accused of getting into a dispute with his 23-year-old girlfriend, police said.
Henriques, of the Bronx, punched the victim numerous times in the face and back, causing severe injuries, detectives said.

Officers attempted to place Henriques in handcuffs, but he resisted arrest during a brief struggle, according to police.
The victim was taken to an area hospital.

While in custody, Henriques continued to struggle, causing an officer to seek treatment for his right knee, police said.
Henriques was due to be arraigned on Sunday on charges that include, two counts of second-degree assault and resisting arrest.
