Man Robs Cedarhurst Bank

The robber was last seen fleeing eastbound on Central Avenue, police say.

CEDARHURST, NY - A Cedarhurst bank was robbed on Monday evening, according to Nassau Police.

At about 5 p.m., man entered Chase Bank on 446 Central Avenue, approached the window and handed the teller a demand note for money, police said.

After obtaining the cash, the robber fled the bank and was last seen heading eastbound on Central Avenue, police said.

During the robbery, six employees and three customers were in the bank, none of whom were injured, police said.

The man was described as being 5-feet-3-inches to 5-feet-5-inches tall with a thin build and about 40 to 45 years old, police said.

He was wearing a green hoodie and a green jacket.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
