Man Stole Car With Passenger Inside In Nassau: Police
The car was left running when a man got in and started driving, police say.
VALLEY STREAM, NY — A man is wanted in connection with stealing a car that had a passenger inside it in Valley Stream on Sunday, Nassau police said.
A woman left her car running on West Merrick Road after dropping another car off at a mechanic around 1:40 p.m. Sunday, police said. Her 18-year-old passenger was waiting in the backseat when a man they did not know got in and drove around 300 feet eastbound on West Merrick Road, police said.
When the man approached Rockaway Avenue, he put the car in park, got out, and entered an orange-to-red BMW, police said. The BMW driver drove southbound on Rockaway Avenue, police said.

An arrest has not yet been made.
Detectives asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
