MTA Approves Parking Lot Renovations at Three LIRR Stations
$1.3 million in work will repave lots, redo sidewalks and curbs.

The MTA has approved $1.3 million in parking renovations to the Cedarhurst, Little Neck and Gibson LIRR stations.
The $1.333 million for the improvements is leftover from a 2005-09 Capital Program for Parking. The planned work includes repaving the lots and redrawing the lines for parking.
The majority of the money -- $763,000 -- will be spent at Little Neck, which has 111. The MTA said it has received numerous complaints about the state of the parking lot from LIRR riders. In addition to milling up and repaving the parking lot, the MTA will also install a new sidewalk and curbing in the area.

The work at Cedarhurst, which has 44 spaces, will be similar to that at Little Neck, and will include a new sidewalk and curbs in addition to the new lot.
The work at the 47-space Gibson station will repave the lot, but will not include work on the sidewalks.
