Nassau Legislator Carrie Solages Charged With Assault
BREAKING: The legislator was allegedly arrested on domestic violence charges overnight after a fight with his girlfriend.

UPDATE: According to police, Solages was arrested after a domestic dispute with his girlfriend.
Police say that Solages was at her Valley Stream home when the two became involved in a verbal argument. That dispute, however, turned physical. Solages's girlfriend, who was not named, had bruises on her throat and a scratch on her arm. She was treated at the scene by a Nassau County Police Department medic.
According to Newsday, the victim's 15-year-old daughter was awoken by the fight and tried to intervene. She was not injured.

Solages is charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a minor. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in First District Court in Hempstead.

According to sources, Solages was arrested on domestic violence charges overnight. Official charges against him are pending.
Solages is serving his third term representing District 3, which comprises Elmont, Valley Stream, South Floral Park, Inwood and portions of Lawrence and North Woodmere.
