Police say when the woman said she didn't have cash, the man began to touch her inappropriately.
CEDARHURST, NY — Nassau County police say they arrested a man who allegedly tried to rob a woman on the street, and then groped her when she didn't have cash.
According to police, the 32-year-old woman was walking west on Broadway near Adelberg Lane at 5:33 p.m. on Aug. 6 when she was grabbed from behind by Joseph Nadal, 32, of West Broadway, Cedarhurst.
Police say Nadal threw the woman to the ground and demanded money. When she told him she didn't have any, police say Nadal began to touch her inappropriately. A woman driving by saw what was happening and honked her horn, which police say caused Nadal to flee.
