8 Arrested On Drug, Weapon Charges After Raid At Nassau Home

Police say they recovered drugs and a gun from the home. An animal control unit responded to remove pit bulls from the house.

Nassau Police raided a house in Inwood Tuesday morning that was being used to grow marijuana and arrested eight people who were there at the time, police said.

According to police, officers executed a search warrant for 24 Clinton Ave. at 5:52 a.m. Police say they recovered a gun, marijuana plants, marijuana and other controlled substances. The Town of Hempstead Animal Control unit responded to remove pit bulls from the house. After police made their arrests, the Town of Hempstead Building Department inspected the home and deemed it unlivable, and then boarded it up.

  • Caine Abel-Bey, 20, of 24 Clinton Ave. Charged with criminal possession of a firearm and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana.
  • Ashley Williams, 19, of 24 Clinton Ave. Charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
  • Raquan Howard, 18, of 24 Clinton Ave. Charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
  • Stamey Holland, 25, of 24 Clinton Ave. Charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
  • Amber Mahoney, 26, of 24 Clinton Ave. Charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
  • Keison Artis, 25, of Monroe Place, Hempstead. Charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
  • Michael Pedlar, 20, of Long Beach Road, Island Park - Charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
  • Peter Sanford, 23, of Charlotte, North Carolina. Charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
