New York American Water Investing $340,000 in Lawrence
Water main replacement scheduled for May 17

New York American Water is preparing to replace approximately 2,300 feet of 6-inch aging water main that was installed in 1896 with new 8-inch ductile iron main along Causeway Road (from Rock Hall Road to Broadway) and Pearsall Place (from Causeway heading East to end of roadway).
In addition, the project also includes replacing 25 utility-owned service lines and fire hydrants along the pipeline route. These pipeline improvements should enhance water service reliability and water flows for household consumption and firefighting. The project represents a critical investment for the company to provide customers with safe, reliable water service. Weather permitting the work will begin the week of May 17 and be completed by the end of June.
"With the installation of the new water mains, New York American Water customers can count on us to provide safe, reliable water service. By constantly upgrading our infrastructure, we’re planning to keep it that way,” said Christopher Buday, vice president of Operations, New York American Water.
