Officer Punched In Head During Arrest In Valley Stream: Police

ELMONT, NY — A Elmont man, who was being arrested on a criminal trespass charge in Valley Stream, is accused of punching a police officer in the head, authorities said.

David Owusu, 31, was ultimately restrained and taken to a hospital for a cut above his eye, police said.

Both officers, who sustained injuries during the course of the Monday night arrest, were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Owusu faces two counts of second-degree assault and third-degree criminal trespass. He is expected to be arraigned on Wednesday.
