Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By Car In Nassau
Police say the man suffered a traumatic head injury and died later at the hospital.
A pedestrian was hit by a car and killed while he was walking in Lawrence Saturday evening.
According to police, Richard Friedman, 55, was walking north on in the road on Washington Avenue around 5:30 p.m., between Donmoor Road and Broadway, when he was hit by a 2016 BMW also heading north. The driver, a 44-year-old man, remained at the scene.
Friedman suffered a traumatic head injury and was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later by a doctor.

A brake and safety inspection of the car was performed at the scene and released to the driver. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
