Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Car in Valley Stream
The 61-year-old man was struck while crossing Merrick Road on Monday afternoon.

VALLEY STREAM, NY - A 61-year-old pedestrian died after he was struck by a car in Valley Stream on Monday afternoon, according to Nassau County Police.
While attempting to cross Merrick Road from north to south at Green Street, the Bellerose man was struck by an eastbound 2002 Audi Allroad that driven by a 75-year-old man at about 12 p.m., police said.
The pedestrian, who police did not name, suffered multiple trauma injuries. He was transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

A safety check on the driver’s car was performed at the scene and released back to the uninjured owner, police said.
The investigation into the non-criminal accident is ongoing, police said.Â
